My name is Jim. I'm a computer programmer by day and have been since just around 1999. I like developing Internet applications more than desktop stuff. I'm married and have two kids, two moderately photogenic cats and a bird. We used to have a dog, but in order to spare it from a very untimely death at the hands of a psychotic cat, we had to find it another home.

When I'm not doing computer-oriented stuff I read, write, and watch tv and dvds. I like to think I'm a bit of a movie trivia buff.

• I'm a pretty shy and quiet person, but outspoken.
• I've lived in Nebraska, Utah, Arizona, Texas, Illinois, and California.
• I went to three different high schools my junior year.
• I have a BA in psychology and an MS in information systems.
• I live in Topeka, KS . . . by fate rather than choice.

• Selfless, generous people.
• Tech gadgets.
• Rainy days.
• Big screen, hi-def tvs.
• Clean cars.
• Doing things the "old fashioned way."

Things that turn me off

• People who drive, smoke and talk on their cell phone at the same time.
• Commercials.
• Washing dishes.
• Doctor bills. Cell phone bills. Gas bills.
